Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biophysics / Biochemistry / Bioengineering / Chemical Engineering
Up to two postdoctoral scholarships are announced in biophysics / biomolecular interactions /chemical engineering at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Department of Optical and Biophysical Systems.
The research of the recently established groups (Laboratory of Biophysics and Laboratory of Functional Biointerfaces) is focused on cutting-edge topics in experimental and theoretical biophysics, including surface-mediated biomolecular interactions and cellular interactions in complex biological media.

Required qualifications:
• Research experience in biophysics (either experimental or theoretical), or biochemistry, or related areas
• PhD in relevant subject area
• A creative and self-motivated personality, with interest in fundamental and/or applied science
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Good team-working skills
• Good communication skills in English

Preferred qualifications:
• Documented experience of solving complex scientific or technical problems in at least one of the areas outlined above
• Hands-on experience in one or more of the following techniques: SPR, vibrational spectroscopies, ellipsometry, fluorescence microscopy, QCM, mass spectroscopy, AFM, other (bio)organic surface characterization techniques

Terms of employment:
The initial period of employment is 1 year (with the possibility of an extension), starting from March 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
