Chemical and Instrumental analysis of Solids

Chemical and Instrumental Analysis of Solids

Analysis of solids is a combination of analytical chemistry, physico-chemical instrumental techniques and contemporary methods of materials characterization. In IIC materials characterization is systematically performed in Centre of Instrumental Techniques, which employs XRD, electron microscopy, Mössbauer spectroscopy and further techniques.

In Academic Materials Research Laboratory of Painted Artworks (ALMA), microanalysis and non-invasive analysis of artworks and study of degradation processes in painted artworks  is performed.

Sedimentary archives are studied in Laboratory of Environmetal Geochemical Analysis. The aim is to perform chemostratigraphy and reconstruct the past environments (including historical pollution) from sedimentary records.
