Dorcadion (Cribridorcadion) rezai was recently described by Mikhail Danilevsky from Semiron environs (N31°14′28″ E51°25′10″; سميرم, Semirom County, Isfahan Province, Iran) according to males only [❖]. The species is not similar to any other because of its unique male elytral design. It belongs to D. laeve-group of species because of relatively glabrous, coarsely sculptured pronotum and totally black antennae and legs. Depicted beetles of both sexes were collected by our friend Lech Kruszelnicki 33 km S of Borujen (N31°40’59" E51°14’01"; بروجن, Isfahan Province, Iran) in May 5, 2017.
Body length: 12 - 18 mm Life cycle: 1 year Adults in: May Host plant: larvae feed on roots of various grass species Distribution: Iran
