New Issue of the Musicology Journal

Since 2019 the Institute of Art History CAS has been publishing the Musicology Journal. The first issue in the graphic desing of Jan Šerých was just published. In the editorial, a new concept of the journal as well as of the recently established Department of Musicology at the IAH CAS are presented.

Library of Musicology open

The Library of Musicology of the IAH CAS opens again after reconstruction and sanitation of the books fund. The library is situated at the Puškin Square 9, Prague 1 and is open Mondays and Wednesdays always from 10 till 5:30 pm, with a lunch break from 12 until 1 pm. For an appointment outside the opening hours, please, consult the librarian.

Vincenc Kramář, Notes on Picasso's Exhibition on the website of the MET

On 30 April 2019 a joint project of the IAH CAS and Leonard A. Lauder Research Center for Modern Art was presented in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York., The cooperation resulted in a digital facsimile, with transcription and translation, of notes by Vincenc Kramář, on Picasso's 1913 exhibition at Heinrich Thannhauser's Moderne Galerie in Munich. The original notes are located in the Department of Documentation of the IAH CAS in Prague.

Svoboda + Palcr: Seeing Sculptures

We coordially invite you to the exhibition "Svoboda + Palcr: Seeing Scuplptures", which is open from 10 April till 16 June 2019 at the Gallery of Fine Arts in Cheb. The exhibition presents photographies by Jan Svoboda (1934–1990) as well as a collection of rarely displayed sculptures by Zdeněka Palcr. (1927–1996). The exhibition is curated by Katarína Mašterová from the IAH CAS. The exhibition is open until 16 June 2019.
