Topic Study of interaction of HBV and host proteins
Faculty FCHT / FPBT VŠCHT, PřF UK
Abstract

Chronic hepatitis B is one of the major causes of liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma worldwide. Molecular mechanism of cancer development is poorly understood. Interaction of HBV proteins and cccDNA with host proteins play important role in this process. The goal of this thesis is identification of viral-host protein complexes, verification of the role of such interaction on HBV, heterologous expression of proteins, characterization of complexes and structure study with the aim to develop specific inhibitors. This project will be performed in collaboration with the group of Structural biology.
