Prof. Josef Michl receives the Medal for meritorious contributions to the advance of science
On Monday, May 20, 2019, the ceremonial section of the XXV. General Assembly of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic took place in the Great Hall of Carolinum. During the ceremonial, the Learned Society awarded its Medal for meritorious contributions to the advance of science to Prof. Josef Michl of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS and The University of Colorado, Boulder.
Prof. Josef Michl, Ph.D. (* 1939) is a significant personality of world chemistry. His professional interests are extremely broad. Perhaps, apart from biochemistry, there is no chemical field in which he would not achieve significant results. He is both an excellent theorist and an experimenter. He is also involved in macromolecular chemistry, photochemistry, molecular electronics, development of efficient solar cells, or the creation of molecular "kits" which allow, among other things, preparation of nanorotors and nanomotors.
Congratulations!
