| Reasons and process of foundation, conditions and principles of operation |
The Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the CAS (ITAM) was founded by the resolution on the 4th plennary meeting of thr Government Comitee for establishment of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences from the 1st of January 1953. The Institute became, under § 18, Article 2 of the Act No. 283/1992 Coll., one of the institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic with effectivness from 31st of December 1992. Under the Act No. 341/2005 Coll. the legal form of the ITAM CAS changed from the state funded institution to public research institution. The founder is, under the Act 341/2005 Coll., the Czech Academy of Sciences. |
