The origination of life and mechanisms that made it possible for the first biomolecules, especially nucleic acids, to assemble from simple chemical compounds under extremely harsh conditions existing on our planet in the early stages of its development – these are topics discussed by Martin Ferus from the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry and Learned Society of the Czech Republic. He described in great details the experiments and theoretical models carried out and created by researchers from the given Institute that have brought new findings about fundamental chemical processes on the Early Earth.
