Brouk Euoniticellus fulvus (Scarabaeidae) je v České republice vzácný druh - v Čechách pravděpodobně vyhynul, přežívá jen na jižní Moravě. K vývoji potřebuje trus (obvykle kravský), písčité či vápencové půdy a teplé a suché klima. Na lokalitě Nový Dvůr u Lednice byl od r. 2001 a hlavně v r. 2003 nalezen oproti předchozím letům ve výrazně vyšších počtech. Diskutovány možné příčiny tohoto nárůstu populace.

Euoniticellus fulvus is one of the scarab beetles (the family Scarabaeidae) and occurs only rarely in the Czech Republic. In Bohemia, the species is probably now extinct and it only survives in South Moravia. For its development the insect needs dung, usually from cows, sandy or calcareous soils and a warm and dry climate. In contrast to the past, at Nový Dvůr near Lednice, the beetle has been found in considerably large numbers since 2001. The highest abundance of the invertebrate was reported in 2003. Possible reasons for this population growth are debated in the article.
