Anotace:
Patinas of archaeological and historic artefacts are often a source of data, which remains often unexplored. This communication, through different examples will detail some of them from typical examples issued both from archaeological remains as well as modern outdoor statues. This presentation aims to understand the global behaviour of bronze (copper-tin alloys) when exposed in natural media such as soil or atmosphere. Recent developments integrating the general corrosion model of bronze since Bronze Age up today, as well as new investigating approaches, will be also presented.
