The online RIHA Journal has been successfully published for over 8 years now. The periodical was established by the International Association of Research Institutes in the History of Art (RIHA). RIHA Journal is a periodical included and rated in international databases (Thomson-Reuters, ERIH Plus, Scopus) and it is highly valued from the point of view of the current publishing practice since it is one of the open-access, peer-reviewed periodicals, those two features being emphasized more and more in the context of the current publishing trends and academic results evaluation.

Why to publish in RIHA journal? – The way the papers are reviewed and processed makes it possible to publish the original new articles quickly and thus ensure a global impact on a wide readership.

How to proceed?– The authors can offer original texts to the local editor to be evaluated, in case they are accepted they will be forwarded to two anonymous reviewers and prepared for the publication.

Riha-Meeting Lisbon

RIHA Journal

On Thursday, October 18 2018 the local editors met in Lisbon for the annual meeting of RIHA Journal to prepare the future strategy for this online periodical. The Czech Republic was represented by a Czech editor Vendula Hnídková from the Institute of Art History, CAS.

The online RIHA Journal publishes original texts from the field of the history of art. It seeks to be a professional platform open to all cultures, methodologies and historical periods but the articles have to follow the parameters of international relevance of both the topic and the professional approach, this being guaranteed by an anonymous peer-review process.

RIHA Journal is included and rated in international databases (Thomson-Reuters, ERIH Plus, Scopus) and it is highly valued from the point of view of the current publishing practice since it is one of the the open-access, peer-reviewed periodicals, those two features being emphasized more and more in the context of the current publishing trends and academic results evaluation.

If you are interested in publishing an article accessible to a wide readership all over the world, please contact the Czech editor Vendula Hnídková, hnidkova@udu.cas.cz.

RIHA Association

The RIHA Association (International Association of Research Institutes in the History of Art) allies now almost 30 institutions dealing with researches and documentation on the fields of art history. It was founded in 1998 in Paris and the Institute of Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences was one of the co-founders. Annually, one of the RIHA-Members organises a common meeting which enables discussion on actual topics and problems that are of high importance for the art history.

On the meeting in Rome in 2008 a “RIHA Resolution on Copyright” was approved; in Ljubljana the document “ERIH and Art History – a joint resolution of RIHA” was defined and subsequently confirmed (see: www.riha-institutes.org). The 13th RIHA-Meeting in November 2013 took place in Prague within the Institute of Art History of the CAS. Here, the resolution “Measuring Quality in Art History” was approved.
