Laboratory of the National Time and Frequency Standard (CMI Associate Laboratory)
Main tasks:
Physical realization of the TAI second.
Generation of the national time scale UTC(TP).
Linking the atomic clocks in the Czech Republic to UTC(TP), time transfer from/to LNTFS via global navigation systems or optical links.
Participation on generating the UTC time scale in cooperation with BIPM. Reporting of the atomic scales in the Czech Republic to BIPM.
Generation of standard frequencies with very high short-term frequency stability.
Services:
Dissemination of UTC(TP) via Internet using the Network Time Protocol and Time Stamp Authorities.
High-accuracy calibrations of industrial atomic frequency sources, ultra-stable quartz oscillators, and GPS-disciplined frequency sources and clocks.
Consultations and expertises.
Equipment:
High-performance Cesium-beam atomic clocks 5071A.
Time-transfer GPS receivers GTR-50 designed in IPE in cooperation with DICOM, spol. s r.o.
Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers and Time Stamp Authorities (TSA) designed by CESNET, z.s.p.o.
Ultra-stable 5 MHz BVA reference oscillators Oscilloquartz 8600-BC5GE.
Time interval analyzer TSC 5110A.
Phase Noise Detector FSS1000E with FFT Spectrum Analyzer SR760.
Laboratory comparators based on dual-mixer time-difference multiplacation, universal time interval counters SR620.
Optical receivers and transmitters for transmission via optical fiber links desinged in IPE.
