On April 25, 2019, a seminar on the MYRRHA project took place at IPP with the participation of Dmitry Terentyev from the Belgian SCK.CEN Belgian Nuclear Research Centre.
The seminar dealt with the development of high heat flux and radiation resistant materials based on tungsten advanced materials and the current state of the MYRRHA project. The MYRRHA device will be the first nuclear reactor driven by a particle accelerator. The project is a part of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) and is one of the three new fission reactor projects: MYRRHA in Belgium, JULES HOROWITZ in France and PALLAS in the Netherlands.
