Dobrá jedlá houba kozák topolový (Leccinum duriusculum) patří k největším a svým způsobem i nejzajímavějším z kozáků. Můžeme jej nalézt v nejteplejším období roku, od vrcholného jara do začátku podzimu na kyselých, zejména hlinitých půdách. Pro mladé exempláře je charakteristická bělavá zóna na třeni pod okrajem klobouku.

The edible and tasty fungus species Leccinum duriusculum belongs to the greatest and most interesting representatives of the genus Leccinum. It can be found during the warmest period of the year, from high spring to the beginning of autumn, in acid and mainly loamy soils. For young fungi the whitish zone on the stem is typical, under the fringe of the cap.
