Logic Colloquium 2019

Logic Colloquium 2019 – European Summer Meeting of the Association for Symbolic Logic will be held during August 11th–16th 2019 in Prague. Logic Colloquia are a series of international conferences focused on logic, taking place annually in Europe under the governance of the Association for Symbolic Logic. Logic Colloquium 2019 is jointly organized by the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, and the Faculty of Information Technology, Czech Technical University in Prague. The conference will take place in the lecture halls of the Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University in Prague, Thákurova 9, Praha 6.
The meeting will commence with a public plenary lecture of Hannes Leitgeb (Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy) on Sunday August 11th at 6 PM. A welcome drink will be served one hour before the lecture.
The conference is partially sponsored by the RSJ Foundation.

Rada Matematického ústavu AV ČR vyhlašuje výběrové řízení na obsazení funkce ředitele pracoviště pro funkční období od 1. 5. 2019 do 30. 4. 2024.
Požadavky:

svéprávnost,
bezúhonnost podle § 17 odst. 4 písm. b) a c) zákona č. 341/2005 Sb., o veřejných výzkumných institucích, v platném znění,
vysokoškolské vzdělání a vědecká nebo vědeckopedagogická kvalifikace v oboru matematika,
významné výsledky tvůrčí vědecké činnosti,
organizační schopnosti a zkušenosti,
aktivní znalost anglického jazyka, další jazykové znalosti výhodou,
morální bezúhonnost,
splnění podmínek podle zákona č. 451/1991 Sb., (tzv. lustrační zákon).

Přihlášky se stručným životopisem, doklady o dosažené kvalifikaci, přehledem dosavadní praxe, seznamem hlavních vědeckých prací, představou o řízení a rozvoji pracoviště, výpisem z Rejstříku trestů ne starším než 3 měsíce a čestným prohlášením o bezúhonnosti podle § 17 odst. 4 písm. c) zákona č. 341/2005 Sb. musí být doručeny písemně v českém nebo v anglickém jazyce na adresu

The Honorary Bernard Bolzano Medal

President of the Czech Academy of Sciences Prof. Eva Zažímalová will award Prof. Miloslav Feistauer and Prof. Antonín Novotný the Honorary Bernard Bolzano Medal for Merits in Mathematical Sciences. The ceremony will take place on 6th February 2019 at the Institute of Mathematics of CAS. Both laureates are the world leading specialists in mathematical theory and numerical methods for compressible and incompressible fluid flows.
