During his doctoral studies he began to focus on the Hellenistic period, particularly on the Stoics (thesis: Le paradoxe stoïcien: liberté de l'action déterminée). He pursued his research in this area in subsequent post-doctoral periods of work abroad. His current interests, besides particular questions of Stoic metaphysics, physics and ethics, centres on the broader context of the philosophy of the Hellenistic period, with focus on trying to identify its starting points (Aristotle) and later resonances (Plotinus). His interests include also Presocratic philosophy and the philosophy of the Classical period (especially Heraclitus and Plato).
