Abstract:
Preparation and characterization of palladium-niobium membrane hydrogen separator supported on the surface of compact polycrystalline layer of silicalite 1 is proposed. We will foccus our attention on the conditions of separator preparation from the point of view of its performance in hydrogen permeation (i.e. post-synthetic template removal, optimization of chemical composition and thickness of the alloy phase). To get inside dependence of the thermal stability and electron structure of alloy on its chemical composition, model systems prepared by deposition of niobium on the surface of palladium under ultra high vacuum will be used. The part of investigation of the model systems will be proposed to study on Materials science beamline in Elettra synchrotron ring in Trieste (Italy).
