Anabella obtained her PhD in 2010 at the University of La Plata (Argentina) under the supervision of Gustavo E. Romero. Her PhD thesis was about "Non-thermal processes associated with astrophysical shock waves". After few months as a postdoctoral fellow at the Argentinian National Research Council (CONICET), she moved to Morelia (Mexico). In Morelia, as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), she worked at the Centre of Radio Astronomy and Astrophysics (CRyA) with Luis Felipe Rodriguez in the field of protostellar jets, modelling their non-thermal emission. From January 2014 to December 2016 she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford (Physics Department), working with Tony Bell and Katherine Blundell on the topic of extragalactic cosmic rays. She was also appointed as a Lecturer in Physics at Magdalen College (Oxford), where Anabella tutored Special Relativity, GR, and Cosmology. At the beginning of 2017 Anabella spent 4 months as a postdoctoral researcher in Montpellier (LUPM), working with Alexandre Marcowith on magnetic field amplification in protostellar jets. Since June 2017 Anabella has been working in Prague at the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. At the Relativistic Astrophysics group she is working with Vladimir Karas on particle acceleration by the interaction of AGN jets with stars.

Anabella's research is focused on particle acceleration and non-thermal emission in the whole electromagnetic spectrum, from radio to gamma-rays. In particular, she has been working on shock acceleration and magnetic field amplification in relativistic and non-relativistic jets. Anabella is particularly interested on the acceleration of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays.
