Forming an International Team on Evolutionary Anthropology of Moravian Populations

The aim of the project is to improve the quality of collaboration between educational (MU) and scientific and research (Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic) institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad (Germany, Poland) through the creation of an interdisciplinary research team focusing on the subject of evolutionary anthropology, which will be linked to leading sites abroad (particularly Max-Planck-Gesellschaft Leipzig, the University of Poznań and the University of Tübingen) and to expand on existing forms of collaboration. Expansion of the communications base through the active involvement of Czech and foreign specialists in a wide range of activities, specifically involvement in basic research, workshops, conferences and the preparation of comprehensive publications, which will be open to the target group. A sustainable channel of information will be created between Czech and foreign scientific and educational research institutions and the target group.
The process will involve organising open scientific and research topics, field workshops at key Moravian find sites (in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic), laboratory workshops and specialised seminars (at MU), enabling the target group to acquire practical experience in institutions abroad (Germany, Poland), and excursions to conferences and research internships abroad.

The practical outcome of the project will be:
1) Theoretical training of members of the target group in the interdisciplinary understanding of contemporary evolutionary anthropology
2) Practical training of members of the target group in modern field and laboratory anthropological procedures by foreign and Czech specialists
3) Involvement of members of the target group in the international research networks, resulting in joint specialised publications.
