At the Bioelectrodynamics research team (Institute of Photonics and Electronics of the Czech Academy of Sciences), we are looking for a full-time research assistant for the molecular modelling in the field of bioelectromagnetics. 

Requirements:

PhD Student in Bioanalytics

Responsibilities and tasks

The selected candidate will carry out research of methods for immobilization of various biological entities on the surface of a plasmonic sensor and development of methodologies enabling biosensor-based investigation of analyte-receptor (e.g. protein-protein and protein-cell) interactions. The developed immobilization methods and methodologies will be applied to the investigation of interactions of selected biomolecules and their quantification.

 

Requirements:

  • MS or equivalent degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics or similar,
  • experience in research of biosensors for investigation of biomolecular interactions or detection of biomolecules.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Microfluidics

Responsibilities and tasks
The selected candidate will be expected to develop microfluidic systems for optical affinity biosensors based on surface plasmons. Specific tasks may include:
  • Modelling mass transport in microfluidic structures.
  • Design and fabrication of microfluidic structures and devices for both biomolecular interaction analysis and detection purposes.
  • Development of experimental protocols and analysis of biosensor data for the extraction of relevant biomolecular information.
Requirements: 
  • Ph. D. degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, or a related field. 
  • Experience in research into microfluidic systems, preferably when used with surface-based biosensing technologies.
  • Publication record in the field of microfluidics.
  • Experience in fabrication of microfluidic structures and devices, including photolithographic and replication methods; knowledge of micro-/nanofabrication methods.
  • Experience in computing or programming languages (Matlab).
  • Experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a plus.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing affinity-based biosensor data is a plus.
