Ing. Karel Klusáček, CSc., MBA

Karel Klusacek is a MS graduate of the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague (1973). He received his PhD from the Academy of Sciences in Physical Chemistry (1978) and his MBA from the Business School of the Sheffield Hallam University, UK (1998). In 1987 he spent one year as Visiting Research Professor in Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. After 15 years of research in Chemical Reaction Engineering at the Czech Academy of Sciences, he was appointed Director of the Technology Centre CAS. His main professional interests include foresight, technology transfer and business incubation. Dr. Klusacek was Founding Chairman of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, which was established in 2009. He is Member of the Engineering Academy CR. In 2009 he was awarded an honorary Medal for Merit for the Czech Academy of Sciences. He is currently focusing on the concept of strategic development of the Technology Centre and the coordination of its activities.
