CERGE-EI Researchers To Present Current Economic Research
// ARTICLE CREATION AND/OR MODIFICATION DATES // note the special format due to date() not functioning with other languages ?>6 November, 2019
CERGE-EI is joining the upcoming celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution with a special event that will introduce current economic research to the broader public and academics from other fields: “30 Years After the Velvet Revolution: From Transition Economics to Global Topics.” Our researchers, together with two special guests, will present their work on 15 November 2019.
Renowned Czech economic reporter David Klimeš will guide the audience through a variety of research topics that are all also relevant outside the academic discourse.
"The 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution is a perfect opportunity to show how economics research has developed since the fall of the so-called Iron Curtain," said the Director of CERGE-EI Sergey Slobodyan.
"The topics that are covered by our researchers are the very same that are in the global spotlight. That is clear evidence that CERGE-EI is fulfilling its mission to build a recognized center of excellence and innovation in economics research and education," he added.
Filip Matějka, Michal Bauer, Mariola Pytliková, Marek Kapička and Klára Kalíšková (IDEA Think Tank) will represent the new generation of young Czech economists based at CERGE-EI.
CERGE-EI Alumnus Jaroslav Borovička (New York University) will join the event from New York and last but not least Jamie Hentall-MacCuish (University College London) will present his work based on the application of research by Jakub Steiner (CERGE-EI), Colin Stewart (University of Toronto) and Filip Matějka (CERGE-EI).
