“Dirty Drilling” has been grinding hard to be announced the most Freshhh in 2016. Congratulations to Linda Do and Marek Rakowski, CERGE-EI Master’s in Applied Economics students, who were a part of the winning team “Dirty Drilling” in MOL’s Freshhh competition 2016.
On Wednesday 26 May Linda and Marek’s team “Dirty Drilling” proved victorious as they went head to head against four other teams in the final round in Prague. The online international competition organized by MOL Group, a leading multinational oil & gas company from Hungary, had more than 2000 teams from 76 different countries compete for the grand prize of 25,000 Euros.
Linda and Marek took advantage of their background in Applied Economics in the three rounds of the tournament, which focus on technology and business strategy decisions in the oil & gas industry. By building up a new oil company from scratch and making executive judgments on research and development projects, the two CERGE-EI students proved they had unbeatable practical skills amongst 20,000 university applicants.
In addition to the 12,000 Euro first place prize, the team will also be granted the opportunity to join MOL Group’s graduate programme. The other top five teams included Hugo (Hungary), Insight (Hungary), Blackstone (Slovenia) and Mech Knights (Pakistan).
