Mentoring Program

"Doing a PhD is a long-distance run. Don't run it alone!"

CERGE-EI offers a free mentoring program supporting women in their PhD studies, helping them to define career goals and the steps needed to achieve them. The program is open to students from other universities (and fields other than economics).

The program goal is to strengthen support for PhD students, encouraging them to pursue a successful research career. A specifically designed 6-hour workshop will be offered, followed by a series of follow-up meetings with special guests and CERGE-EI alumni (sharing experiences of their work in academia, the private sector, and international organizations). Funded by the US Embassy in Prague in 2018 and by the British Embassy Prague in 2019.

New season of the program shall start in October 2019. Note: our two-month program is offered in cooperation with the Centre for Gender and Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences. If you would like to register for their own long-term mentoring program (which runs from March to December), please visit their webpage.

Are you an academic institution who would like to start your own mentoring program? Please read our tips here.
