CERGE-EI, a joint workplace of Charles University in Prague and the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, is a unique partnership designed to promote modern education and research in economics. The institute is located in the center of Prague.

The mission of CERGE-EI has been clear since its founding over two decades ago: to contribute to progress in the region by providing an intellectual environment that emphasizes free and open inquiry. CERGE-EI has created a forum for top economists from around the world to come together to pursue common research and educational endeavors, while also imparting that knowledge to promising students from the transition region and beyond.
