    This is true, but here’s my PSA: you can and should just email people whose work/lab you’re interested in, at least in academia, to ask about opportunities they might have. Previous connection isn’t necessary.

    When people say “most jobs aren’t advertised online so you must network to find that next opportunity” it makes me feel 🥴 Some people don’t have means/access to form alliances that turn into jobs. So this statement promotes an unfair job market that mainly favours the privileged
