Abstract: In this project three recent instrumental developments infrared semiconductor lasers,Fourier transform high resolution spectroscopy and optoacoustic detection are combined. The main idea of this proposal is in the mutual combination of these techniques for the measurement of weak absorption signals. We assume the large sensitivity improvement by combination of FT and diode laser spectroscopic techniques. The combination of intra-cavity techniques with FT spectrometer is quite novel idea which may provide very impressive results but also definitely bear some technical risks. The infrared low temperature lead salt based semiconductor lasers represent high spectral purity, fast and widely tunable source (cw radiation, sufficient modal power, low optical noise)will be compared with 1.5 um and 1.8 um sources. The time resolved high resolution FT time resolved technique has unique application in the reaction dynamics of the unstable species opening new horizons in high resolution spectroscopy.
