20 000 shots on tokamak COMPASS
On Thursday, January 30, 2020, the COMPASS team performed a jubilee shot number 20,000. The COMPASS tokamak is being used successfully for eleven years.

Radomír Pánek was inaugurated Director of IPP for the second term
On Friday, January 24, a ceremonial handover of the appointment decree for Dr. Radomír Pánek for the second term of the Director of IPP was held. Radomír Pánek will lead the Institute in the next five years. The decree was handed over to him by the vice-president of CAS, professor Řídký.

EMTRAIC was held at the COMPASS tokamak
On December 2 - 13 the winter course EMTRAIC was held at the COMPASS Tokamak. This course is similar to the SUMTRAIC summer training course, however, it is organised for the students of the Erasmus Mundus Fusion Master Programme.

This year the 60 years have passed since the Institute of Plasma Physics was established. To celebrate this important anniversary, a social event took place on November 18, 2019 in the Ambassador Hotel hall on Wenceslas Square.
