On 21.6. 2017 Joel Carpenter, significant scientist of University of Queensland visited our laboratories, he met with scientists working on a similar topic and he gave lecture “Manipulating and measuring modes in multimode fiber” in the lecture hall of Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS, v. v. i.. Tomáš Pikálek, on the topic "Accurate laser measurements of length in the air." The students were introduced to the method that Tomáš Pikálek dealt with in his diploma thesis and this year he was awarded the Werner von Siements award in the category - Best Diploma Thesis. continue

On 14-16 June 2017, the members of the Environmental Microscopy Group of the ISI CAS will participate in an international meeting in order to establish future cooperation in the field of microstructure and chemical analysis of ice, which will take place at the University of Innsbruck. The participation of representatives from the ISI CAS is supported within the project AV21 Strategy, the research program "Diagnostic methods and techniques". continue

On 23-24 March 2017 the Institute of Instrumentation of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic visited an important researcher in the field of laser physics RNDr. Martin Kozák, Ph.D., from Friedrich-Alexander Universität, who was the guest of a two-day workshop on "New sources of electrons". On Thursday, a public lecture took place at the ISI CAS Hall on the topic of "laser-stimulated autoemission", where Martin Kozák presented his research at the University of Erlangen where he has been working for two years. continue
