Abstract:
We aim to obtain accurate and reliable kinetic data on formation of complex hydrated ions. We plan to investigate the formation of H3O+.(H2O) l,2,3 ions followed by the formation of MH+ hydrated ions (where M is an organic molecule) via switchingreactions and association reactions. The reactions should in particular include three body association reactions of protonated organic molecules with water and the switching reactions of hydrated hydronium ions with these organic molecules. Descriptionof the number of water molecules that can be present in a cluster with respect to the properties of the protonated organic molecules at a given temperature and pressure. This work will be done using the stationary and flowing afterglow at the applicantworkplace and using SIFT system at the workplace of 1st joint applicant. Further we plan experimental study and self-consistent modelling of the systems relevant for plasma technology and diagnostic.
