Description of the project:
The COMPASS RI project represents significant extension in exploitation of the current infrastructure of the COMPASS tokamak. Main part of the project is an enhancement of the auxiliary heating system (neutral beams) from 0.6 MW to 1.6 MW, enabling access to the partial detachment regime and to high confinement regime with edge instabilities (Type I ELMs) of stable frequency. Studies of physics behind both of these regimes is crucial for development of future fusion reactors.
European Structural and Investment Funds.
The project is co-financed by EU.
