Restoration of the loan services from Monday, April 27

From Monday, April 27, the loan services will be available again. The opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.

From now on, it is possible to order all documents from our collection with the exception of documents from the historical book collection, which will be made available only after the opening of the research room.

Books and journals intended for on-site loan only will be available to you for a maximum of 30 minutes. During this time, you can copy, scan or take a photo of the materials. Documents available for off-site loans can be borrowed within a few minutes using the selfcheck; you need to have an off-site membership if you want to take the books home. And how it will work?

Loan request

The request has to be made through our catalogue (after logging in to the user account) before the library visit. Searching and ordering documents in person during the visit is not possible.

Delivery time

Documents requested from the main building will be prepared for loan within 30 minutes of the submission of a loan request.

Documents requested from the external depository will be prepared for loan:

  • from 3.00 p.m. on the same day if an order is made by 11 a.m. on the given day,
  • from 3.00 p.m. on the following day on which the LCAS is open if an order is made after 11 a.m. on the preceding day.

At the time of the library visit, the documents must be ready for collection – you will receive an e-mail notification. Please do not go to the library before receiving this e-mail, documents would not be available.

Library visit

You are required to wear a face mask and use the disinfection and disposable gloves that will be available by the entrance. All your ordered documents will be found under the selfcheck. Documents are prepared under the code created of the first three letters of your surname and forename (at shorter names also the code is shorter). Mr. Radovan Happy will be looking for his books under the code HAPRAD.

For borrowing itself, choose the option „Check Out“ on selfcheck and follow the instructions on the device. Place the documents which you don’t want to borrow into the storage space right on the desk; those will be stored under quarantine for three days.

Books and journals intended for on-site loan only will be available to you for a maximum of 30 minutes. You can use self-service copier or scanner (you will need your own USB drive). Before leaving, place the documents into the storage space right on the desk at the selfcheck; those will be stored under quarantine for three days.

Returning documents

Loaned documents can be returned only into the book return box located behind the entrance door to the building (accessible Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. to 20 p.m.) Returning books in person at the loan desk will be not possible.

Re-loaning documents

If it is no longer possible to extend the loan period of the document and you still need it, bring it to the loan desk. If not reserved by another user, the library staff will return it and make a new loan immediately.
