We feature an interview with the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) Professor Jiří Drahoš who was elected by the Academy Assembly as the head of the CAS in 2008 and re-elected in 2012. He has worked at the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS since 1977, holding various positions, such as research scientist, senior research scientist, Department Head, Deputy Director (1992–1995), and Director (1996–2003). Between 2005 and 2008 he served as the Vice-President of the CAS and since 2009 he has been the President of this Institution.
