The Director of IPP has become one of the two Vice-Chairpersons of the Governing Board of the European Fusion for Energy (F4E) Joint Undertaking, based in Barcelona, and will also lead the Technical Advisory Panel of the Board.
F4E is tasked with implementing the European part of the ITER project, which is the largest scientific project in the world. In the past, these positions were held only by represetatives of the main players in the field, ie. Germany, Spain, Great Britain or France. F4E realizes for ITER supplies for a total budget of around 12 billion €.
