How to reach ICPF
The Institute is located at Suchdol, a quarter in the northwest outskirts of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. It shares the campus with the Geological Institute and the Institute of Experimental Botany (of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic). The campus is accessible from Rozvojova Street. The location is shown on map. The ICPF can easily be reached by municipal transport or taxi. Complete information on municipal transport and fares, connections, and timetable is also available.
By municipal transport
In any case you must reach the underground green line A terminal Dejvicka. From here, both bus lines No. 107 (direction Suchdol) and No. 147 (direction Vyhledy) can be used. Their common point of departure Dejvicka can be found in the northwestern segment of Vitezne namesti (= Vitezne Square/Circle), approximately 100 meters from the underground exit. Follow signs in the subway hall. The bus journey takes 9 minutes (7 stops, some on request) to the Kamycka stop. It can be recognized easily, just after the bus completes a steep ascent (about 1000 m long) from the riverside.
How to get to Dejvicka station ...
- from Václav Havel Airport: by bus No. 119 to the terminal Nádraží Veleslavín, where transfer to metro green line A or tram 20 or 26 to Dejvicka (about 25 min).
- from Main Railway Station (Hlavni nadrazi): by underground red line C to Museum, where you change for green line A to Dejvicka (about 20 min., including transfer).
- from Railway Station Praha-Holesovice: by underground red line C to Museum, where you change for green line A to Dejvicka (about 25 min., including transfer).
- from Central Coach Station Praha-Florenc: either by underground red line C to Museum, where you change for green line A to Dejvicka (about 20 min., including transfer), or by underground yellow line B to Mustek, where change for green line A to Dejvicka (about 20 min., including transfer).
By taxi
You should be always careful when you decide to use a cab since some taxi drivers can charge you an exaggerated price seeing that you are a foreigner. The price per kilometer must be indicated on both sides of taxi and also within the car on the front panel, otherwise, it is recommended to negotiate the price before entering the car. When you sit in, check whether the driver sets the counter correctly. Always ask for a receipt. The price per kilometer may vary from car to car; at present, the average is 30 Kc. Final sum includes also an introductory fee (for entering the car) in the range of 30 to 50 Kc. Different prices can be expected for the transportation from/to the Airport (Airport Cars - Fix Co.: 120-770 Kc depending on price zone). The reliable company is the AAA-taxi. The distance between the Airport and the Institute is about 15 km, between the Main Railway Station and the Institute about 10 km. From or to the Airport, there is also a shuttle service CEDAZ operating at 30 minutes interval or on customer's wish. It uses vans for a maximum of eight passengers on the fixed route Airport - Dejvicka - Namesti Republiky (Square of the Republic) where is a downtown CSA (Czech Airlines) terminal. The one way fare is 90 Kc/person (spring 2002). Fare from Airport to (one) place in the center according to wish: a group of 1-4 people: 360 Kc; a group of 5-8 people: 720 Kc. Children under 10 years in company of adults free of charge.
By car
If you succeed to reach circle Vitezne namesti (on route No. 7), you must turn here to the north for route No. 241 and follow the direction to Suchdol and Cerny Vul. On driving 4 km you will get to the location of the Institute
