Student Josef Kučera, who joined the Open Science Project this year with his internship at the IPE, succeeded in the student scientific conference and gained 2nd place in the I. science field.

Josef became a trainee of the research team Preparation and characterization of nanomaterials, his work Electrons and photons in semiconductor nanostructures was lectured by the head of the research team Ing. Jan Grym, Ph.D., his patron during his internship was Hana Faitová, member of the team.

The Open Science Conference took place on 22nd and 23rd November 2018 at the Conference Center of the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague - Krč. More than 120 pre-primary students stood before a really difficult task - to present the results of their annual internship at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic under the Open Science Project in five minutes before a professional jury and audience.

The results of the Open Science 2018 conference can be found here.

Take a look at the video made by Josef about the internship:

IPE carries out fundamental and applied research in the scientific fields of photonics, optoelectronics and electronics. In these fields, IPE generates new knowledge and develops new technologies.
