Abstract: We show that the spectral statistics of correlation matrices obtained
from EEG signal of a healthy resting subject conform closely with the
predictions of random matrix theory. When stimulated the brain
response lead however to deviations from this correlation pattern. This fact
can be used to trace the stimulus processing in a real time
(functional imaging). We will demonstrate results for various
stimulations of the visual cortex and for acute pain processing.
