Byeongju Jeong has been the Mellon Endowment Associate Professor with tenure at CERGE-EI (under US permanent charter) and a member of the Executive and Supervisory Committee of CERGE-EI since 2003. He has also been an Assistant Professor at CERGE, Charles University and a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (EI) since 1997. He served as the Deputy Director for Graduate Studies at CERGE and EI from 2010 to 2012. He graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. degree in Economics in 1991, received an M.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1994, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1996. He was a Lecturer at Pennsylvania State University from 1996 to 1997, and a Visiting professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona from 2003 to 2004.
