The above takes place at (or is organised by) the Institute of Physiology itself while compulsory lectures are to be attended mostly at the university the PhD candidate is affiliated to. This is also where the final examination (which includes a public thesis defense) eventually takes place. As government-funded education is free in the Czech Republic you are welcome to additionally pick up other lectures and courses of your choice, including those given by Institute of Physiology staff.
