Jan Hanousek has been a Citicorp Professor of Corporate Finance with tenure at CERGE-EI (under US permanent charter) since Spring 2018. Prior to that, he was a Citigroup Endowment Professor with tenure at CERGE-EI (under US permanent charter) during Fall 2003–Spring 2018, and a Citigroup Professor of Financial Markets at CERGE-EI (under US permanent charter) during Fall 2001–Spring 2003. Jan served as Director of CERGE and EI (1999-2003), Deputy Director of Graduate Studies (1994-1999), and a Member of the Executive and Supervisory Committee of CERGE-EI (1999-2010). He has also been a Full Professor at CERGE, Charles University since November 2002, and a Senior Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (EI) since 2003. In 2017, the Czech Academy of Sciences granted him the title of DSc. (“Research Professor”). He graduated in Probability and Statistics from Charles University in 1998, and received a CSc. (Ph.D.) in Statistics from Charles University in 1990. He was also an Associate Professor (1996-2002), an Assistant Professor (1992-1996) at CERGE, Charles University, and a Researcher (1992-2003) at the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Between July 1999 and June 2003, he was a Visiting Professor at William Davidson Institute, University of Michigan Business School (1997-2004), a Research Fellow at City University of New York (1996), and a Visiting Post-doctoral Fellow at the Department of Economics, University of Pennsylvania (1994-1995), Consultant to the World Bank, Washington, D.C. (since 1998), and a Senior Researcher at Czech National Bank (since 1994).
