Abstract: Programmable quantum multimeters are
devices which can realize an arbitrary quantum measurement of a
given class (exact or approximate) on a quantum state stored in
a data register. This measurement is at that specified by the
quantum state of the program register. In this lecture we are
going to discuss universal quantum multimeters which make it
possible to realize (approximatively) an arbitrary projective
measurement on one qubit or qudit. We will also describe
experimental optical implementations of the simplest quantum
multimeters.
