Výroba, strukturování a modifikace nanokrystalických diamantů za účelem bakteriocidních studií

Anotace

The proposed project focuses on growth of nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) structures and thin films by linear antenna microwave plasma CVD process. PVA fibers containing of diamond nanoparticles will be used as three dimensional supports for the direct NCD growth. Various NCD forms (films, porous nanostructures, isolated nanocrystals and polymer fibers containing of diamond nanoparticles) will be structured in pre-defined morphologies (nano-rods, needles or cones) by ion etching or atomically modified by plasma treatment (oxygen, hydrogen, fluorine) to combine as much as possible scientific aspects in one platform for bacterial studies. The challenging part is an understanding the correlation between NCD properties and their possible antibacterial behavior/effects. This study will provide the basis for a wide range of using nanocrystalline diamond as smart and (bio) functional material for applications in Life Sciences and beyond.
