Autor zaznamenal netypické potravní chování kobry monoklové (Naja kaouthia) v thajské přírodě. Dospělý had se na okraji národního parku Khao Sok snažil přiživit na kadáveru ryby. Zbytky vyfiletovaného sumce (kostra s lebkou a se zbytky masa, kůže) vyhozené na břehu malého jezírka za domem se kobra snažila odtáhnout do úkrytu pod břehem. Samotná konzumace kadáveru, která by byla vzhledem k jeho velikosti prakticky nemožná, pozorována nebyla.
The author has noted the Monocled Cobra (Naja kaouthia) engaged in untypical feeding behaviour in the Thai countryside. A mature snake on the outskirts of the Khao Sok National Park attempted to feed on a fish cadaver. The cobra tried to drag off the remains of the filleted catfish (i.e. the skeleton and skull with bits of meat and skin) that had been thrown onto the shore of a small pond behind a house back to its lair beneath the shore. The actual consumption of the cadaver, which in view of its size was practically impossible, remained unobserved.
