Teaching Fellows Course 2017

19 July, 2017

In August, approximately 60 new Teaching Fellows from numerous countries will participate in the 2017 Teaching Fellows Pedagogical Course, along with visiting professors from the Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg, the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, and the International School of Economics, Tbilisi.

The course features workshops and group discussions on modern Economics teaching practices, and is also a great chance to network with others in the field.

This year, our Career Integration Fellows will have an opportunity to present their research at a CERGE-EI Snapshot event. Snapshots follow the popular format of condensing the presentation into 8 minutes, allowing a wide audience to appreciate the highlights of the work. The event is followed by an informal party with refreshments, where attendees and presenters can meet and greet, and discuss their work in more detail with everyone interested. This is a great opportunity to grow your professional network, and possibly to be inspired by new ideas. The event will be open to the entire CERGE-EI community.

The CERGE-EI Teaching Fellows program was launched in 2007 to increase the quality of undergraduate teaching in Economics faculties throughout the CEE and CIS regions. Since then, Teaching Fellows have taught in 25 countries, reaching 90,000 students. In the 2016/17 academic year alone, 150 CERGE-EI Teaching Fellows were teaching courses at 85 universities in 21 countries throughout Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Russia and Ukraine.

More information on the program is available on the CERGE-EI website.
