EDH Terms and Conditions
Dear student, by registering for the Economics Discovery Hub event, you understand and accept the following:
- You may use our computer and internet network only for the purposes of the Economics Discovery Hub activities and will use only programs and materials required for the activity.
- We will send you a monthly newsletter about upcoming events at the Economics Discovery Hub and interesting news from CERGE-EI. You can easily unsubscribe from receiving the newsletter.
- We use photos taken during the event to promote the Economics Discovery Hub and its events on our social media and website and, if needed, share them with the partners that support the Economics Discovery Hub so we will ask for your permission to take photos. The photographer at the event will respect your will concerning the permission to take photos with you.
EDH Rights and Duties:
- The Economics Discovery Hub reserves the right not to accept students for other activities if they do not attend the activity they were accepted for and they do not send any apology or explanation for their absence.
- We reserve the right to select applicants based on their motivation and other relevant information provided. Fifty percent of the places on each course are reserved for CERGE-EI students and alumni. Priority is given to current university students.
Personal Data Processing:
When registering for our activities you provide us with the following personal data:
- First name, Surname, Email, Phone (optional)
We use this information to be able to communicate with you about our events. We will keep your personal details in our database in order to be able to offer you other interesting activities in the future. Your email address will be shared with the instructor so he/she can communicate with you about the course. If the course is organized by our partner, we will share your email with the partner for the same purpose.

We use this information for statistical purposes and to better target our courses and their content, we share it with our instructors for the same purpose.
We won’t use your personal information for purposes other than those stated above or share it with anyone else.

Personal Data Processing Agreement:
Our intention is to effectively promote the Economics Discovery Hub and its events. The newsletter that we send to your email promotes our upcoming events. Publishing photos from the events on social media helps to spread the word about our activities to more general public. We store your data, including email address and photos from events for 10 years.
- If you do not wish to appear on the photographs taken during the event that are used to promote the Economics Discovery Hub and its events on our social media and website and, if needed, shared with the partners that support the Economics Discovery Hub, please inform the photographer at the event and he/she will take photos without you.
- After registering for our event, you will start receiving our monthly newsletter about upcoming events at the Economics Discovery Hub and interesting news from CERGE-EI. If you decide that you do not wish to receive communications from us, you can easily unsubscribe by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link at the footer of the email or by writing us at This email address is being protected from spambots. If you indicate that you no longer wish to receive communications from us, we will no longer be able to share them with you and your contact details will be moved to our opt-out list of people that do not wish to receive the communications.
You give consent to Univerzita Karlova, registered at Ovocný trh 560/5, 116 36 Praha 1, IČO: 00216208, the personal data administrator of all of its faculties and institutes, to process your personal data with respect to the above stated scope, purpose and retention period.
