Director of CERGE UK announces a call for
A 4-months work-stay (research mobility) of a Ph.D. students in the USA. Directly following the work-stay abroad, the candidate shall spend a mandatory return phase of six months at CERGE UK. There are 4 open positions in this call.
Requirements:
At the time of application, the candidate must meet the following conditions:
- Be a Ph.D. student at an institution based in the Czech Republic;
- He/she must have demonstrated scientific quality, publication potential, and proficiency in English;
- Must have a foreign mentor who:
- He/she must have participated in at least one international grant or national grant in the past 5 years as a solver or co-investigator, or
- He/she must demonstrate publishing activity - at least 3 publishing outputs in the last 5 years.
During the work-stay, the Ph.D. student will be an employee of CERGE UK working for 0,5 FTE at the Host institution.
The work-stay (research mobility) is part of the project “International Mobility of Researchers, technical and academic staff of the Charles University” (reg. number CZ.02.2.69/0.0/0.0/18_053/0016976) funded by the Operational Programme “Research, Development and Education”.
Expected start date: February 1, 2021 / September 1, 2021
Final starting date by agreement: January 1, 2022 at latest.

A 6-months work-stay (research mobility) of a Junior Researcher in the USA. The work-stay will focus especially on opportunistic behavior of financially limited firms in the oil and gas industry, where firms facing credit shocks use controversial mining practices to increase reserves and plan for higher production volumes. Directly following the work-stay abroad, the candidate shall spend a mandatory return phase of six months at CERGE UK. There is 1 position open in this call.

- Be a Junior Researcher at an institution based in the Czech Republic;
- He/she must have demonstrated scientific quality, publication potential, and proficiency in English.
- Must have a foreign mentor who:
- He/she must have participated in at least one international grant or national grant in the past 5 years as a solver or co-investigator, or
- He/she must demonstrate publishing activity - at least 3 publishing outputs in the last 5 years.

Additional information / requirements:
Junior means a researcher who is a Ph.D. or a Ph.D. or equivalent up to 7 years before the date of submission of the aid application. This period may be extended by periods of maternity and parental leave, long-term illness (more than 90 days), family member care (more than 90 days), pre-trial training and military service.
