1. How much does the MA in Applied Economics program cost?
Regular tuition for the complete MA in Applied Economics program is 9,500 USD. Early applicants, who apply by 30 November, are eligible for tuition of 7,500 USD. For late applications, after 31 March, the tuition is 9,500 USD.
Students are also expected to cover their living expenses and health insurance while studying in Prague, which range between 710 USD to 1,240 USD per month, depending on the selected accommodation.
2. Do you offer scholarships?
Yes, we have a number of financial options available to ease the burden for our students. Please see our financial aid page for more information.
3. Can I gain a full scholarship?
No, we do not grant full scholarships.
There are several finanical aid schemes which can decrease the tuition substantially.
4. Do you offer discounted tuition for students from developing countries?
CERGE-EI pursues a non-discrimination policy and treats all students and applicants equally, regardless of their country of origin. The MA in Applied Economics tuition doesn't depend on a student's country of origin or citizenship.
5. Do I have to pay the full cost of tuition at once or may I pay in installments?
No, you don't have to pay the tuition at once. MA in Applied Economics tuition is paid in 4 installments: (1) a tuition deposit of 1,000 USD to accept the admissions offer, (2)-(4) at the beginning of each semester.
6. Do you have online format of the MA in Applied Economics program?
No. The MA in Applied Economics is a full-time in-class program. You need to be present in Prague to take the courses.
7. Can I study part-time?

8. I'm still studying at my home university and will obtain my diploma only in the summer. Can I apply before obtaining the diploma?
Yes you can, and in fact should apply before obtaining your diploma from your home university. In this case, instead of a diploma and transcript, submit your current academic transcript - a list of courses with grades you have obtained so far. If you are admitted to the MA in Applied Economics program, your admission will be conditional on providing the official diploma by the beginning of the program.
9. Is it a degree program? Why is it only 1 year?
The MA in Applied Economics program takes only 1 year to complete. You study intensively for 3 semesters and in 1 year you obtain the Master of Arts in Applied Economics degree chartered by the University of the State of New York, USA. The degree has been nostrified as an EU-equivalent degree.
10. Can I join the program in January?
No. The MA in Applied Economics program only has a September intake. Starting the program in mid-September, you will graduate in the end of July the following year.
