PhD and MAER Orientation Week Started, MAE Students Already Crunching Numbers

The 2020/2021 academic year has started for the 43 first-year students of the PhD in Economics and Master in Economic Research programs. The Orientation Week is on and due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is taking place online.
In the following days, our freshmen will be provided with the most important practical information about their studies.
Today, they met CERGE-EI Director Sergey Slobodyan, who encouraged them to start their studies with the same effort as if they were present in Prague. Sergey also said he was looking forward to seeing the classrooms full of students again.
While the new PhD and MAER students are just starting to become familiar with CERGE-EI, our Master in Applied Economics (MAE) cohort has already dived into their studies. Their Discovery Week took place last week and the opening course of Mathematics started yesterday.
Welcoming newcomers in our beautiful Schebek Palace is something we look forward to every year. We hope things will go back to normal soon.
