Modřín opadavý (Larix decidua) se na území dnešní ČR vyskytoval pouze v relativně malé arele na pomezí Moravy a Slezska. Postupně byl jako lesnicky významná dřevina zaváděn i v jiných oblastech a v současnosti má v našich lesích již své místo.

The range of the autochthonous larch (Larix deciduas) has been restricted within the territory of the present Czech Republic to just a relatively small area on the border of Moravia and Silesia. Nevertheless, the larch has gradually also been introduced as an important forest woody species into other parts of the country and today represents a valuable component of forest stands.
