Jan Hanousek and Christian Ochsner have been granted funding for their research projects from The Czech Science Foundation (GACR). Jan Hanousek will study the structure of the business group and its interference with key corporate decisions. Christian Ochsner wants to build a team at CERGE-EI that will focus on quantitative history and regional and political economy.
The re-opening of the schools, the results of the US presidential election, or the ongoing debate on tax changes were topics commented on by our experts for Czech media during November. Researchers from the CERGE-EI and the IDEA think tank had their say at various public conferences focused for example on the covid-19 epidemic, the future of the Czech industry, or education.
Filip Matějka, a researcher and member of the CERGE-EI faculty, has received the prestigious Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council. The project "Attention" continues to explore the imperfections of human decision-making and its impact on society. The Czech economist succeeded in competing with more than two and a half thousand applications from 23 countries.
Two CERGE-EI students have succeeded at the annual Young Economist of the Year competition organized by The Czech Economic Society (CES).
